Well, they've done it. The Democrats have lied, cheated, twisted arms, and bribed their way into passing their health care bill.
They accomplished this primarily through class warfare. When they weren't demonizing the evil insurance industry, they were demonizing the so-called rich who could afford health care, as well as demonizing those companies that paid top-dollar to provide their employees with top-of-the-line health insurance (the so-called "Cadillac" insurance plans, which are now being taxed - unless you're in a labor union).
Immediately after the bill was passed, the Democrats, with the aid of the mainstream media, began escalating the demonization of their political opponents.
Congressional Democrats have made accusations of racism, violence, and threats of violence, all with no proof.
Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) stated that Tea-Partiers had shouted the N-word 15 times at the Congressional Black Caucus as they headed over to the Capitol for the vote. There were reporters and cameras all over the place, yet there is no video or audio to confirm this allegation.
Rep. Steve Driehaus (D-OH) alleged that a protester threw a brick through the window of his office in Cincinnati. The press breathlessly repeated the story, neglecting to mention the fact that his office is on the 30th floor of an office building. So, the person either had an extremely good arm, or went up 30 floors just to throw a brick through a window. Oddly enough, after the location of Driehaus' office was reported, the brick story mysteriously went away.
But the real issue is this: if some on the Right are moving closer to violence, it's probably because those on the Left are leaving them no other options. When conservatives protest, they're labeled as being too white, or "astroturf." When conservatives call liberal members of Congress, they are routinely insulted, told they are wrong, or the phones are just shut off so no one can get through. Poll after poll showed that around 70% of Americans disapproved of the health care bill, yet it has been passed and signed into law, despite protests, phone calls, petitions, letters, emails and town hall meetings.
Polling and elections have shown that the nation is pretty evenly split between Democrats and Republicans, but as the Democrats move the nation closer to being a socialist state, liberals are starting to see just what they've been a part of, and are moving more towards conservatism. Pelosi and the Democrats in Congress just gave more than half of the nation the middle finger. What did they expect would happen? That we would just go away & let them steamroll over our freedoms and values? I don't think so.
Any real violence or threats of violence so far have come from wackos on the right - and there are, without a doubt, wackos on both sides of the aisle & within any political group. But as the Democrats continue their transformation of our nation, subverting the rights of citizens and trying to set themselves up as the permanent ruling class, it would not surprise me if things begin to escalate.
The Democrats are playing with fire. They are subverting our freedoms and telling the American people that their opinion does not matter. Meanwhile, with their push for "comprehensive immigration reform" and automatic voter registration, they are seeking to subvert our election process and establish a permanent power base for their party.
This is the stuff revolution is made of. There has already been talk of secession, and the possibility of civil war is starting to crop up. My fear is that the Democrats don't know what a dangerous game they are playing, and won't see the error of their ways until it is too late.

Obamacare, Whether You Like It Or Not!
The Democrats are showing their true colors this week, as debate heats up over the so-called "bipartisan" health care summit.
First, President Obama has published his "health care plan" on the White House website...though when I was poking around the site, I couldn't help but notice that there are a lot of summaries and overviews. If there is a way to view the actual legislative language of the president's proposal, I could not find it. The site is primarily full of the same rhetoric we've been getting from Obama since before he was elected, so the site basically just amounts to a dressed-up Obama speech.
This, of course, is leading up to the summit that is scheduled for next week, and supposedly in response to rising health insurance rates...which begs the question: Why are health insurance rates going up so drastically all of a sudden? Of course it has nothing to do with the fact that two branches of the federal government are actively working to put the medical insurance industry out of business and everything to do with evil corporations exploiting the workers for their own gain.
House Republican leader John Boehner has issued a press release stating that Obama's health care bill is pretty much the same crap we've seen coming out of Congress thus far - and he's right. The president isn't offering anything new; his proposals are the same old liberal tripe that came out of the House and Senate (including taxpayer funding for abortions).
This also proves that the upcoming health care summit is a sham. Obama is claiming to have incorporated Republicans' ideas in his plan, and while this is true, it hardly makes Obama's plan bipartisan - and his claim that it is bipartisan only makes it blindingly obvious that he doesn't understand why Republicans and conservatives oppose both the House and Senate bills...which begs the question: is Barack Obama really that stupid?
Of course, there are more reasons why the summit is a sham: The Democrats have basically said that the Republicans can show up (which will gain them nothing), or they will pass a reconciliation version of the existing bills without them. Using the reconciliation rules, the Democrats can pretty much jumble together whichever pieces of either bill that they want, and push it through despite Republican opposition.
So it all comes down to this: either Republicans can come to the summit and accomplish nothing (other than generating free publicity for the Democrats), or they can continue to fight. Either way, we will get a health care bill that will increase taxes on all US taxpayers, turn the US health insurance industry into even more of a shambles, and screw over each and every hard-working, tax paying American.

Is Health Care Dead?
We can only hope that the election of Scott Brown to the US Senate will be the end to the Democrats' plans to take over the health care system. Nancy Pelosi is now saying that she does not have enough votes in the House to get approval for the Senate's version of the bill.
This is definitely a good thing. Brown's election effectively breaks the Dem's super-majority in the Senate, and if Pelosi can't get the votes she needs in the House, the progressive socialists in Congress will either have to compromise, or just give up altogether (preferably the latter).
Conservatives should remain vigilant, though: the fight is not over yet. Scott Brown's election wasn't a victory for conservatives, it was a defeat for the progressives. We still have a long way to go - Barney Frank has already brought up the possibility of doing away with the Filibuster (a measure he would undoubtedly want to bring back as soon as his party was out of the majority), and the Dems have shown quite a willingness to change Congressional rules as they see fit.
On top of that, this election has greater ramifications. The Democrats have lost "Ted Kennedy's Seat." This is going to cause some major strategy shifts, possibly even to the point that they will shelve health care reform and other parts of the liberal agenda until after the midterm elections. That way, if they are able to ride out the midterms and maintain (or increase) their majority, they can begin anew with their manufactured crises and push toward the U.S.S.A.
After all, there is still a lot of stimulus money out there that hasn't been spent yet. They're all set to bribe as many Americans as they can as the midterm elections approach. Conservatives can breathe a small sigh of relief, but don't get complacent. There's a hard fight ahead.

Is There Anyone Obama Won't Bribe?
President Obama met with union leaders on Friday, where he agreed to exempt them from the so-called "Cadillac tax" on high-value insurance plans.
Of course, the first question should be how, exactly, the Cadillac tax makes any sense at all. If the entire purpose of health care reform is to make sure that all Americans have access to affordable health insurance, how does it make sense to tax people and employers who have high-quality insurance plans? One of my favorite quotes comes from Winston Churchill, when he said, "The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries."
If the goal of health care reform were simply to ensure that all Americans can be insured, there would be no reason to tax "Cadillac" insurance plans - the people with high-value insurance plans are insured, so leave them alone! The government, however, doesn't seem to know the meaning of the phrase "leave them alone." The government meddles, and because they can't leave well enough alone (and the government can't afford to cover all Americans), they have to tax whatever they can.
What the Cadillac tax means over the long run is that people with high-value health insurance will no longer have high-value health insurance. The 40% excise tax will make high-value health insurance unaffordable, forcing people and companies to settle for health insurance that offers less coverage.
Now bring in the unions, who negotiated high-value health insurance for the workers they represent. The unions have to cover pensions for their members, and they have to cover their health plans. With the 40% tax in Obamacare, the labor unions won't be able to afford those insurance plans - but they're written into the union contracts. They would either have to renegotiate the contracts so union members get lower-grade health insurance, or the unions would simply go bankrupt.
Enter the Obama political machine.
The Democrats depend on labor unions to maintain their power base. Millions of dollars pour in from labor unions into liberal politicians' campaign coffers every election cycle...so of course Obama isn't going to let his union friends down. Instead of making the law apply uniformly, the health care bill (if passed) will exempt labor unions from the Cadillac tax.
This is bulls**t. Obama pledged openness and honesty, but all we get are backroom deals, bribes, and kickbacks to Democrat political allies. He promised bipartisanship, but all we get is hard-core liberal socialism. And they're going to keep pushing and pushing right up until the voters take away their power - and it's possible that even that won't stop them.

There's Nothing To See Here...
C-SPAN-gate continues...
The CEO of C-SPAN has now stated that the White House has only allowed a single hour of coverage for their portion of the health care takeover...and that was an event in the East Room that didn't contain a whole lot of substance.
The problem is that even if the White House and congressional leadership agreed to one hour per day of C-SPAN coverage, taxpayers could only rest assured that the Obama administration and congressional leadership weren't selling out our freedoms and bribing congressmen for votes...for that one hour. Seeing as how Obama and congressional leaders have decided to bypass the traditional committee hearings to reconcile the House and Senate bills in favor of private closed-door meetings, it is abundantly clear that the American people have much to fear from the Obama administration and the Democratic congressional leadership.
As I stated yesterday, the Democrats know beyond the shadow of a doubt that if they were to truly make this process transparent, it would destroy their party. If the American people were able to see what they were doing, no American capable of thought would vote for a Democrat ever again.
Hopefully enough people will wake up and smell the BS that the Democrats are flinging that we can throw the bums out in November.

Health Care is Here
On Christmas Eve, the Senate held their final vote for their version of the health care takeover. The vote came out 60-39, with the bill passing strictly along partisan lines.
The truth is, pretty much every vote on health care has been on partisan lines, because this is a partisan bill written for a partisan Congress on a partisan issue.
The Democrats have been complaining lately that the Republicans have done nothing but obstruct their health care legislation, as if that were a bad thing. Truth is, the Left has been trying to ram socialized health care down the throats of the American people for decades, but until now they've been stopped at every turn because too many people knew that "free" health care was a lie, a way for politicians to take more and more power away from the people, all the while setting the stage for socialism in America.
And the truth behind the Republicans' so-called obstructionism is that it isn't the real reason it took so long for the health care bill to pass. The entire issue of health care reform has been crafted in such a way that any Republican worth his salt would be insane to cast a vote for the bill at any step of the process. The people who have truly been holding up the process are the Democrats who disagreed with the bill for one reason or another - and the party leadership & the White House quite clearly showed their willingness to twist any arm and offer any bribe to push through their health care socialization. They bribed Ben Nelson by offering to pay his state's Medicare costs - around $45 million. Mary Landrieu was given $300 million for her state. Christopher Dodd was able to write $100 million into the bill for his state. The entire bill is full of nothing but socialism, waste and bribery.
The Republicans should be applauded for fighting tooth and nail to stop this bill. Any of the so-called "moderate" Democrats who voted for the bill should be run out of Washington on a rail, and count themselves fortunate that they got off that light. Any Senator who held out until funds were secured for their state should be put up on charges for accepting bribes, and the Senate leadership should be brought up on charges for bribing them...and then, any Senator who voted for the bill should be thrown out for violating their oath of office, in which they swore to support the Constitution of the United States.

Reid: Opponents of Health Care = Supporters of Slavery
Harry Reid is at it again: this time, he has compared opponents of Obamacare to those who supported slavery, opposed women's sufferage, and opposed the civil rights movement.
Now, besides just being patently absurd on their face, Reid's comments show his utter ignorance of history: it was the Republicans who led opposition to slavery, and a Democrat who tried to filibuster the 1957 Civil Rights Act. Conservatives and Republicans have historically stood on the side of liberty, and the situation with the health care bill is no different. Conservatives want to reform the health care system in a way that uses less regulation on the health care system to give the people more freedom and increase competition in the health care market, which will inevitably drive prices down. Liberals want to take power away from the people, impose higher taxes, and give the government further control over peoples' lives.
It's interesting how liberals try to ascribe a moral imperative to any piece of legislation that grants the government more power, no matter how much damage that legislation will do to the nation. When Republicans want to outlaw (or even just outlaw taxpayer-funded subsidies of) abortion, or want to outlaw gay marriage, we are routinely told that "you cannot legislate morality." When Democrats want to take over 1/6 of the nation's economy in a massive power-grab that will require all citizens to purchase health insurance or take a government health plan under penalty of fines and possible jail time, legislating morality is suddenly acceptable. President Obama has even quoted the Bible to justify the health care takeover, justifying federal wealth redistribution schemes by saying that we should "be our brother's keeper" (taken from Genesis 4:9). The irony is, Barack Obama's own brother lives in poverty in Africa.
But the moral imperative where health care is concerned is disingenuous on multiple fronts: we already have regulations in place requiring doctors to provide emergency care to patients in need, regardless of whether they can pay. With that statute in place, there is no reason for the power-grab to extent health insurance to everyone in America (by the way, many liberals are now calling the current bill "health insurance reform," since Americans started catching on to the fact that it does more to change the insurance system than the health care system). With emergency care required, we are already being "our brother's keeper."
The Progressives are only using the Biblical/moral (and in some cases, the race card) argument in an attempt to get the American people to hand over all of their freedoms to the progressive nanny state. What is the end game? That largely depends on which special interest is pushing which power grab at any particular time, but the bottom line is: keep ahold of power, no matter what.

Obamacare is One Step Closer
In the interests of transparency and openness, the Senate decided to take an idea from Nancy Pelosi and hold their cloture vote for the health care power-grab as late on Saturday night as they possibly could.
According to Harry Reid, Republican opposition to cloture constitutes opposition to debate. This notion is, to put it simply, idiotic. America has already debated government health care. We debated it throughout the summer, when Senators and Congressmen went to their districts and held town halls. We debated it when people from across America journeyed to Washington to voice their opposition. We debated it in poll after poll, showing that an overwhelming majority of Americans don't want the government to run our health care.
This vote for cloture isn't about debate. It's about power. It's about manipulation. It's about the elitist politicians in Washington taking away the freedoms that our fathers and grandfathers and great-grandfathers fought and died to protect.
This isn't about what the people want, it's about what the politicians want for the people...and no matter what they say, all they want for us is to have power over us and to control us in the interests of maintaining their power and ability to control.
The bottom line is this: a vote against cloture was a vote for the people of America. It is essential to the continuation of our freedoms that this health care bill be opposed at every turn. Once Obamacare is instituted, it will be permanent. As nice as the thought is that conservatives could take back control of the government in 2010 and/or 2012, even conservative majorities in the House and Senate, combined with conservative control of the White House cannot guarantee the repeal of any government program. Politicians are, by nature, stubborn, and once they gain power over some aspect of our lives, forcing them to give the power up is next to impossible.

This vote for cloture isn't about debate. It's about power. It's about manipulation. It's about the elitist politicians in Washington taking away the freedoms that our fathers and grandfathers and great-grandfathers fought and died to protect.
This isn't about what the people want, it's about what the politicians want for the people...and no matter what they say, all they want for us is to have power over us and to control us in the interests of maintaining their power and ability to control.

As nice as the thought is that conservatives could take back control of the government in 2010 and/or 2012, even conservative majorities in the House and Senate, combined with conservative control of the White House cannot guarantee the repeal of any government program. Politicians are, by nature, stubborn, and once they gain power over some aspect of our lives, forcing them to give the power up is next to impossible.

Is Universal Health Care Worth Destroying America?
The Democrats, in typical crooked politician fashion, are now pushing the health care travesty through the Senate just as fast as they can. Word has it they're pushing for a cloture vote as early as Saturday, which would put the bill in the Senate for all of two weeks before it comes up for the first round of voting. In those two weeks, the bill has grown nearly 200 pages over the sorry excuse of a bill the House passed.
The idea that the purpose of this cloture vote is to open the bill up for debate is little more than a cheap lie. All a cloture vote will do is to begin the arm twisting, cajoling and bribery that are all too typical in Washington. In fact, the bribery has already begun. With deals like this going on, it's no wonder the only Republican congressman to vote for the House bill was from Louisiana...way too suspicious to be coincidence.

More flaws in the Senate bill:
The abortion provision that was introduced to the House bill that would block federal funding for abortions has been done away with, and replaced with a fee specifically for the purpose of funding abortions.
The bill will raise taxes on anyone not buying "qualifying" health plans, as well as levying other taxes and fees specifically designed to get people on the so-called "public option."
The million dollar question that has yet to be answered is this: Since when did the federal government have the authority to tell American citizens what products and/or services they have to buy? It's bad enough that the government is out there levying taxes on all of the things that the experts say will kill us - that trend has gotten so bad that they're now considering taxing soft drinks.
This used to be a free country. If the federal government would follow the Constitution, we would
be still. But today, we are not a free country. We do retain some freedoms, but the number of freedoms we enjoy is shrinking daily. I have read the Constitution, and nowhere does it give the federal government the right to tell Americans what they can and can't buy. The ironic thing is that that fact matters more to millions of Americans across this great nation than it does to those who have sworn to protect and defend our Constitution. Any politician in Washington who votes for this health care bill should be tried for treason against the United States, because the only thing this legislation will bring us is poverty and destruction.
It is high time that the ordinary Americans who still possess common sense and pride in their country stand up and tell the politicians that we have had enough. Thomas Jefferson said it best when he wrote:

Thanks to Socialized Health Care, Boy Goes Deaf For Nine Years
An eleven-year-old boy in England has finally regained his hearing.
For nine years, doctors and specialists didn't know what the problem was - they thought it was just ear wax blockage that made the child completely deaf in his right ear.
Then one day, the problem was solved when a cotton bud (the end of a Q-Tip) came out of his ear.
Remember, this is in England, where the government runs the health care system.
Does everyone still think Hillarycare is a good idea?

Make a Note: This is Where We're Heading
According to a report in SKY News on Monday, an alarming number of people in England are doing their own dental work. This, in one of the idyllic havens of "free" health care.
As it turns out, the government covers part of the costs of dental care in England - the full cost is covered only for children and those on welfare. And apparently, being a dentist under the British national health care system isn't all that profitable - the number of dentists in the system has been declining, leading to increased costs. This (combined with the prohibitive tax rates already in England) is leading to people skipping out on dental work, or even trying to do it themselves.
The moral of the story: the market works. Government interventionism only screws things up, and leads to people resorting to pulling their own teeth, because the socialized health care system costs too much!
